The Making of Things
I've been asked to explain the process used in the mixed media work. And I promised I would make a brief blog post about it.
The animal and human heads are almost all sculpted using polymer clay.
I like it because it's easy to handle and easy to clean up, and until I have a proper work space, those are two very important qualities.
When I decide they're finished, they get photographed and transplanted on to a body and into a world, via photoshop. Usually I have a plan for them, but sometimes they make plans on their own, and I have to respect that and roll with it.
Here is a mouse that will grow up to loiter in front of my building.
At some point in the next couple of weeks, he will grow a body and get addicted to cigarettes.
Will keep you posted.
